When you go to the beach, where do you go? Is it closer to go to the NC beaches, Virginia beaches, or Georgia/Alabama/Florida. Which is the closest beach to the Tri Cities area.

If you want the closest beach from tri cities here are your options without checking Google for exact times. Most people go to myrtle beach 5-6 hrs. Virginia beach around 6-7 I think . Charleston Sc 5-6 hrs , daytona beach fl 9-10 and panama city fl 8-9 hrs. Hope this helps if u want to know more try Google maps for exact times.

If you fly through Allegiant Air, for around $50 each way you can get to St Petersburg, FL in 3 hours.

I do know that simply getting on 1-26, you can go straight to Charleston, S.C. without turning off on any other road, period. Folly Beach, Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, etc. are just out of Charleston, a less than 2 hours north of there is Myrtle Beach, less than 2 hours south is Hilton Head Island, and so forth.

That is right at 400 miles. Doing the math- that's frightening!

Default We love Carolina Beach, NC

It is not commercial like Myrtle Beach and it's beautiful.

There is the Aquarium at Fort Fisher about 5 miles down the road and Battleship NC museum (you can tour the battleship) in Wilmington,NC which is not far away at all .

We are going back this year. It's just a very family friendly beach. We have 2 small kids.
