Just wondering if Gatlinburg is mostly a summer/fall vacation destination? Or, does it have things going on all 4 seasons? I know there is a lot around Christmas time, but what about spring & the other winter months?

If it is 4 season, is it as busy and congested during spring & winter as summer & fall?

Yeah thats pretty much always something going on in PF and G-burg...I can't really think if everything off the top of my head,But in Oct they have alot of events and in the spring is when everything starts opening back up..Dollywood,etc...Theres always local arts and crafts events going on there as well...The Rod runs start in March or April i do believe...Just depends on what you like doing really

I'd say late winter into early spring is the least congested time there... and that's not saying much. Don't forget that Winterfest starts in November and runs until late Feb/Early March. The church groups start having get togethers during the winter and it can get pretty populated during the weekend then.

Always busy, especially around holidays and home games at UT during football season.
I second what Ramblin Rose said about late winter, but Pigeon Forge is going to have to build a bypass or something to get around all the traffic.

Jan and Feb are DEAD but Valentine's weekend gets a little boost in Gatlinburg. March and April get little splurges from spring breakers, but in general are not too busy. September and November are not busy.

Labor Day is very busy, not to mention the rod runs... then the leaf peepers, followed by the Christmas shoppers and lights viewers, then the church groups I mentioned before.

I don't see Pigeon Forge building ANYTHING like a bypass. The more cars passing by all the crap stores, the better for business.

Winterfest, surprisingly, draws a huge crowd. Sevierville and Pigeon Forge gets almost as much business during the winter as the summer! Spring is the slowest season.

And, not surprisingly, my favorite.

Prettiest time of year and the crowds are gone.

I've been to PF and G'burg in ALL seasons. They're crowded all the time; just more sometimes than others but I still love going over there. Just an aside...we had a first last Saturday just before we got to Metcalf Bottoms. Some moron PASSED us ON a curve, with a yellow line and we were doing the speed limit. In 5 years, have never seen that before!
