We are looking to move to Knoxville at the beginning of next year 2012. We currently live in Florida. We are looking to spend no more than $800 on a 2/2 ... Ive looked at some apt listings in 37919 37918 and 37865 .... Some really look nice, but im scared of the type of people or its surroundings.... Can anyone recommend an apt complex or townhouse community with a pool that is affordable and NOT in the college town....
Ex: SMoky Crossing - Legends at oak grove - The bluffs at beaver creek

This is Knoxville, home of the University of Tennessee. It's a college town. Having said that, as long as you are not renting right around UT or some other college-orientated complexes, the school will never affect you. And yes, the complex will say it is for students.

Seymour is okay. It's a bit far from the city and also West Knoxville where most of the shopping is. The zip 37919 is where my biz is located. Bearden. It's a great area. The other zip, 37918 is Fountain City, where I live. Both of those are in the city limits.

Really, you should be looking at a place near your job. Where are you going to be working?

Oh, and we are from Florida, too. Welcome to Knoxville. It's a GREAT place.

For what its worth, you should NOT move here BEFORE you get a job.
There are several large apartment complexes in the Cedar Bluff area, as well as along Middlebrook Pike.

Always excellent advice that many people often ignore.

I always like to recommend the area around West Town Mall. The Grove at Deane Hill, Windover, Windrush. There's also the Willows, but I just saw on Facebook the other day someone having problems with their water... The area around the mall is lively and busy, everything you want or need is right there.

We have a member on here (that doesn't post much) but she lived at Smoky Crossing and liked it.

We live at Forest Ridge and enjoy it! It's nice, a little out of the way, but only 10 minutes to Turkey Creek (HUGE shopping area) or 5 min. to Cedar Bluff (lots of restaurants, interstate access, etc..) The complex is mostly young professionals and families. No loud parties that I've heard. 2 pools, nice fitness center, lots of different floorplans, etc... Zip Code is 37931, it's right off Middlebrook Pike.
