I am looking at the possibility of the Knoxville area as a retirement area.

My wife and I enjoy brousing thru Flea Markets. We also enjoy old cars which I understand you have lots of in Pigon Forge.

Is there any large Flea Markets in the area?

Yep theres one right off exit 407 (The Sevierville,Pigeon Forge exit)...Knoxville has a flea market every 3 or so months at the Expo center off of Merchants Drive in North Knox... Far as Old cars go...Pigeon Forge has the rod runs but thats only a few weeks out of the year tho...I'm a big car guy myself..Theres plenty of car shows in and around Knox...Maryville has a small one every Friday night in the mall parking lot and theres one in North Knox off Clinton Hwy and Merchants Drive every Saturday night...Theres also two 1/8th mile tracks in the area if you're into some drag racing as well

That flea market off exit 407 isn't worth the time imo. It's all wholesale crap rather than previously owned stuff.

Thanks for the info, yes I have been to that one and it is 99% china import crap.

And yes I like the 1/4 mile track when I can find one but in a pinch an 1/8 mile will work. I am building a 63 Galaxie 406 4 sp car now and I will do a few passes when it is done, but it is a long way off.

Oh i wouldn't know...I haven't been to a flea market in forever...I just knew that the exit 407 is the biggest one in this area that i know about...There used to be one down in Sweetwater,Tn(about 60 miles from Knox down interstate 75 )...I heard that it was pretty good,But idk if its still around tho or not,So you'd have to look into it...If you're looking for previously owned stuff tho..I'd check out a few antique stores..I have gone to a few here lately thinking it was all junky stuff,But i have seen and found some real nice stuff in a few of em

That sounds like a pretty awesome car when you get done with it..I'm a Ford Guy also...I have a 89 Mustang 5.0 that i'm currently working on..As well a few Honda's i'm also working on

I perfer the 1/4 mile tracks also,But the only 1/4 mile track in the East Tn area is 2 hours away up in Bristol...They have some really nice car shows up there as well
