Oak Tree Lodge
Does anyone know anything about this place in Sevierville? It looks really great from the Parkway but I checked the reviews and they were pretty bad.

I had to stay there 4 years in a row for weekend-long sorority planning meetings, and my chapter has been going there for 15 years now. Never heard complaints. It's clean, great location across from the outlets, TGI Friday's, Mr. Gatti's, as well smack dab in the heart of Pigeon Forge. Keep in mind, reviews are bad in a LOT of hotels in the Gatlingburg/Pigeon Forge area, you can do the research. Tourists come here expecting more than just a tourist trap, and that's what it is. But Oak Tree Lodge is great.

Thanks. Although I check reviews on hotels, I normally take the negative ones in stride, realizing some people can never be pleased. However, the negative reviews for this hotel far outweighed the positive ones so I was a little hesitant. I appreciate hearing from someone who actually stayed there.

thanks. we ended up not staying there either. we stayed somewhere else that was much cheaper & had super, super nice, clean rooms (spirit of the smokies lodge). i did somewhat check the oak tree out from the car & it looked nice, but looks can also be deceiving. maybe next time.

RnM, thanks for the report on the Spirit of the Smokies. Actually had looked this up but rates were so inexpensive, I was a little concerned. Guess that's TWO hotels we have to try on future trips!

we ended up getting a jacuzzi room (brand new) @ the spirit of the smokies for $77 per night. they are extremely cheap right now because they are in the middle of a remodel. don't know how long that'll last though. once you get past the lobby, the place is brand new & extremely clean & nice.
