Default Brazilian Bar-b-que On Papermill

Any news as to when the Brazilian Bar-b-que, AKA Churrasco is opening up or will be open. Don't remember the name but we saw the sign on the highway coming through town. I'm guessing it's going to be in the same strip center as P.F. Changs.

City where we lived in China had two or three of them, pretty popular and a good diversion from a steady diet of Chinese food. Looking forward to checking out this place for a good beef feed bag.

Gotta be pretty soon (original word was opening mid-Sept). Doin lots of work and had a NOW HIRING sign out front. Also saw they were watering the landscaping.

If they are smart, they will try to open in time for football season.

Thanks, NJD, for posting this. It IS the same place as the one in Memphis. Now I'm so excited, I can't wait. I still remember how great the salad bar was. Even the kids, who were toddlers at the time, enjoyed it.

Aw...The owner fell in love with Knoxville, just like us!

Why Knoxville? Zensen says he fell in love with the city after a 2002 visit. After living in larger cities like Dallas (where he was Head Chef at Fogo de Chao), Atlanta and L.A., he was charmed by the city that, he says, "Reminded me so much of home (Southern Brazil)."

"I always wanted to live in a smaller city, where one can easier be part of a community. Knoxville is also a city where people like to eat out and enjoy great food. And what a great combination of a beautiful city with friendly people that like to eat out!"

After reading this article I cannot wait. Wow, that sounds incredible!

Btw, inave, this can't be the same restaurant as the one you experienced in Memphis. It's not a chain. However, it may be very similar!

Looks like they are still working on their website. http://www.brazeiros.com/

If this is the same sort of restaurant as Tucanos in ABQ, it was always packed and I always heard great things about it. Never got a chance to visit, though.

I googled the name and it is the same name as restaurants in Brazil and also Arizona. It did not show up in Memphis but might have closed. It's been several years since we went to that one. Hik, is it possible for a restaurant to have the same name and same methods and not be connected? I admit I'm confuse b/c I read the KNS article and the owner did not make it sound like he was opening part of a chain.

There are many Brazilian steakhouses around the world, yes. The owner use to work as the head chef at one in Dallas. Right now, it seems to be the restaurant concept that is the most "in."
