Hey July 4th there will be fireworks in Pigeon Forge at the Patriot Park at about 9:45.
I see them every year since I work there. They last about 30 mins. Always ends with a grand finally.
Probably not as spectacular as some of the bigger cities I'm sure but entertaining nonetheless.
Ohh, befor the fireworks there is a concert with:
Kimberly Locke,Constantine Maroulis,Quietdrive,Tiffany Affair

Just thought I'd pass that on for those who will be in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area.

Ohh yeah, should have added that "Bowling For soup" will also be in concert there at the Patriot Park.

Default Pigeon Forge Fireworks

Where is the best place to be to see the fireworks? I think I have read to be out on the Parkway maybe between lights 7 and 8?

Another plug for the Pigeon Forge fireworks show. But this one isn't necessarily for the fireworks itself but for the food vendors. They have a strict rule that only non-profit organizations are allowed as vendors. I'm going to be there with a Boy Scout troop selling snow cones and funnel cakes...

There is a huge, free parking lot on Teaster. The parking lot is low, but when you walk to the street level you have a good view of the sky. If you google-map Belle Island Village, the lot was for that.

NJ, you said that the parking lot "was" for that. Is Belle Island Village not under construction anymore?

So what's going to happen to the part of the complex that has been built? Will it just sit there and deteriorate?

No. It is up on the auction block.

In fact, Debbie Reynold's son said that he may have investors.

Anyone that is old enough to remember or has a penchant for trivia will know that Todd is also the offspring of Eddie Fisher and the brother of Carrie. Eddie is of course remembered for his singing and running away with Liz Taylor from his marriage with Reynolds. Carrie is of "Star Wars" fame and the bestselling novel "Postcards from the Edge." The Debbie Reynold's museum was suppose to be built on the property.

Also, it looks like Darrell Waltrip, of Nascar fame, is involved and may have some of his stuff, through DW Enterprises, up for sale as part of collateral.

We have some big players that might be interested. I just read about it in the paper the other day.

Too much information? Ah well, I love writing this stuff.

On a side note, I swung through town the other day and traffic has significantly picked up, compared to last year. The auction should be interesting.

It will be held July 30.
