Default Hotels

Greetings, I will be in Knoxville in beginning of August, is it wise to book hotel/motel in advance of arriving or look around when I get there?
Just wondering if around this time of the year is risky to take chance without reservation, also which areas are best, safe and have cheap rates.
I saw a RedRoof Inn Knoxville West on 209 Advantage Place for $55, is that a decent area?
I will appreciate any help.

Yes. That is a decent area and it has good reviews. It should be fine.

Anything out West should be fine, do your research, I would stay with a chain hotel, at least they are held to certain standards, right?

I'm not sure, but most hotels downtown usually aren't very expensive either, it will cost more, but will be worth the experience if you are coming to experience Knoxville..

There's a Motel 6 (Motel 6 Knoxville West #1252) on Lovell Road that's nice. I stayed there several times before I moved here.
I also liked the Comfort Hotel on Kingston Pike across from West Town Mall Comfort Hotel (TN226) 7737 Kingston Pike , Knoxville, TN, US, 37919
Phone: (865) 690-0034 Fax: (865) 690-8173
That was always very nice and not expensive.

Thanks for replys.

What's the average drive time from Kingston, to Main Street downtown knoxville, during weekday morning rush? Like about 7am.

Better get your hotel in advance. Knoxville is hosting the Jr. Olympics the 1st of August. I hope you have a nice trip.
