Default Considering Relocation

My husband and I are considering relocationg from NW Arkansas to the Knoxville area so Im looking for info.
First off how is the job market especially the construction industry? My husband is a commerical Electrican and I work in banking.
Secondly how expensive is housing and land? We would like to live outside of the city but still close by. We would also like a house around 1800 sq ft at least 5 acres.

A recent article in the News-Sentinel said that even though housing starts are down in Knoxville, over-all construction here is at an all-time high because of booming commercial and industrial projects.

Knoxville has dozens of banks, I'm sure you wouldn't have any problems finding a job with a bank.

As for housing costs, check out the listings at realtor.com. 5 acres will run you a pretty penny in Knox County, but if you look at Loudon or Roane counties you can get a better deal.

john t is on a distinguished road
North and far East Knox county still have reasonable prices on acreages. There are many nice mini farms in the north county area of Corryton and Gibbs that are cheap. In the far east there are nice places in Midway and Kodak. Also look in Anderson and Union counties, it's very reasonable there as well.
