Do any of you have Straight Talk as your cell service provider? I do where I am now, but will be moving to your area in the next year. I like that there is no contract and unlimited everything for under $50/month, but not every place in the country gets consistent reception. There are spots in my town where I get no reception and just down the street get full bars (I live in a small valley). So, if you have ST, how is your reception? Do you have many dropped calls? Do calls ("missed") or texts come through immediately, or several minutes after they were sent?

I'd really rather not sign a contract with a service, but if ST is sketchy at best there, I'll have to consider it.

Thank you!

I have ST. The phone I have is on the Verizon network, and we have no more dropped calls than we had on Verizon. Just dropped in the few dead zones I drive through. We live rural Maryville, and wouldn't go back to a contract again.

I get texts immediately unless I'm in a dead zone. I get maybe 1 dropped call a week, sometimes less than that. Granted, I don't spend alot of time on my phone either. AND we don't get a signal at our home. It's the strangest thing. We have the signal all the way to our driveway, then poof! I live in a dead zone.

I have had StraightTalk for a couple of months. It is a WallyWorld branded version of TracFone.

It works on AT&T and Verizon, depending on which phone you get. I have a low end LG smart phone on the Verizon version. It was dirt cheap and works well. I have had zero reception issues, which is in stark contrast to the problems I used to have as a regular AT&T contract customer. It also works in the East and Mid Tennessee boonies where others won't because Verizon has a lot of 800 MHz sites out here.

My only real complaint is too many damn texts from TracFone informing me of the obvious or wanting me to do/buy something, none of which I bother with.

Note: I think all cell phone companies suck.
