Smile farmers selling produce by the bushell

Does anyone know of local produce being sold by the bushell by farmers. I really would like to find a source for canning purposes.

You could try up in Granger County, I know they have tomatoes and they could probably give you additional information.

That's going to be tough to find this year. The Easter freeze and then the drought has really cut into crops and what there is costs a lot more.
I was just out Hwy. 11W through Grainger County and there's a pick-your-own farm selling tomatoes for $10 a bushel. In years past, the same place sold them for $5 a bushel. The fields are empty compared to previous years. Even the tobacco is small and late.
I posted a lot of Farmer's Market info earlier on this forum. It's a few posts down. They may be able to help.
There's a pick-your own listing here:
Tennessee Vacation - Pick-your-own Produce Farms
Call before going out to make sure they have something.

Default bushell buying

thanks for the reply. I guess this is not a very good year to be canning. With all of the hype about dangerous imports, it seemed like the best solution. Oh well, I guess I will grow my own next year. It sure would be nice to find a group of people interested in doing a little farming, wouldn't it/

I have subscribed. I love anything that grows from the dirt. Thank you. I found a strange plant yesterday in an area that was wooded until recently. It is a ground creeper with three leaves, beautiful purple flowers that appear to be turned inside outward and has green growths that look a lot like black walnuts before they fall from the tree. Can anyone help me on naming this plant?
