You'll love the weather here, if you've lived in those two places. Hardly any snow, ever. Maybe a dusting a couple of times a year, that melts in a few hours. Not enough to even make a snowman!

It doesn't get very cold. Not as cold as Ohio! It's pretty mild all year round, especially to someone that is a half-back. I am, too.

Knoxville winters are considered cold and dreary by Florida standards, and mild and dreary by Cleveland standards. On average you'll get highs in the upper 40s, lows in the upper 20s - lower 30s in Jan/Feb. Mostly overcast skies until a cold front pushes through. Lately there has been very little snow, mostly a light dusting or just flurries with a cold front. Once every few years there is a decent snow of several inches. When Knoxville does get a couple inches, the traffic accidents can be insane.

I'll never forget the first time we visited Knoxville in the winter for several days. It was late February and we saw pansies blooming in front of all of the eateries, banks, motels, etc. We were blown away having been in Mass. for several yrs. and Michigan for 16 years before that. In those spots it's so cold even your children don't grow in the winter! LOL.

Don't forget that it can also be VERY cold here. A few years ago my parents were up visiting me from Florida. It was during February, and it was NINE degrees at my house in East Knox County. Fortunately, it rarely stays cold for very long. Even when I was a kid and it was 17 below zero on Christmas Day up on the Cumberland Plateau, a few days later it was back in the 40s.
