Mornin', y'all. I've done some searching through your sub-forum here but haven't, yet, come across what I'm looking for.

I mentioned to my daughter that I was thinking on taking her on a little mountain expedition to kick off her Summer vacation and, as soon as the word Tennessee came out of my mouth, she asked if we could go to Pigeon Forge (I reckon she's studying it in school). That worked for me, because I was wanting to hit GSMNP and maybe Gatlinburg (I prefer the quiet, less-beaten path of a retreat/get-away destination to the hustle & bustle/glitz & glamor of a tourist hotspot, but this is for her...).

What I'm trying to find out, as a single father plagued with typical American debt syndrome, is where to find the most affordable lodging. A feller I work with, who grew up around there, said it would probably be cheaper closer to Pigeon Forge. I stayed in Sevierville with some buddies last Spring but that was a giant cabin and I don't need anything that large. A cabin would be nice, and I think she would like it, but at 10 she would be just as happy (if not happier) at a hotel that has a pool.

So while I can try and find specific hotels or cabin rentals, it would help if I knew where to narrow my search down to for cost efficiency. Thanks for any help, and I'll keep searching!

how many nights? weekdays or weekend? My suggestion is try this site and orbitz.com,
Pigeon Forge Hotels, Cabins in Pigeon Forge Tennessee, Condos, Motels and Lodging - ReservePigeonForge.com
and if you find something in your range you can ask us about it. I think you will find something reasonable with a pool right on the Parkway. Tripadvisor.com is your best source for reviews.

Pigeon Forge is definitely a tourist trap but forget the glamor. Think "honky-tonk." Yes, Sevierville will be the cheapest but Pigeon Forge is also very affordable. "Honky-tonk," fortunately for you almost always means dirt cheap. Usually your best bet is to call the hotel and ask them to give you their best price. There is a lot of competition for your dollars.
