The place we bought in Rockwood has city water...but also has a well (from before city water was put in, I guess). The cap is sealed and everything looks fine with the well as far as I can see. It's a modern one, looks pretty much like the one we have in NJ.

What I'd like to do is set the well up with a manual pump as a backup in case of any problems with the city water supply or for potentially better tasting/healthier water for drinking.

So I guess we need someone to do an assessment of the well - depth, test the water, structural integrity of the casing, that sort of thing. And to get a quote on installation of the manual pump.

Not certain if that'd be a well drilling company, or a plumber, or who?

Anyone you folks can recommend for the area?

Thanks!

Do a Google search for well drillers in Knoxville and you will find several.

yep, just hoping someone might have a direct recommendation. Hmm--maybe I'll call the surveyor we used when we bought this place; he'd probably know someone.

Thanks!
