Default Hardin Valley Outer Beltway/Loop

We've made several trips to the Knoxville area and plan to retire there in the next few months. We've narrowed our home search to the Farragut area and Hardin Valley. We're leaning toward Hardin Valley due to the congestion we've seen in the Farragut area (also seems like you can get a little more house for your money). Anyone have any comments on Hardin Valley vs. Farragut? Second, we're heard some talk of an outer "loop" that is planned. We haven't been able to find a map of the proposed loop and wonder if anyone knows how it will impact the Hardin Valley area. Any other comments would be appreciated!

It's known locally as the "orange route." There were several proposed routes for the bypass and the one selected was the one colored orange on the map.
The route is here:
Interstate 475 Tennessee @ Interstate-Guide.com
Residents of the area are very unhappy about it.
KnoxNews: Traffic
And have started a website to organize opposition against it.
Political Action Against the Beltway
Personally, I'd love to see the truck traffic taken off of I-40 but I can understand that Hardin Valley doesn't want to lose what is a beautiful area.

Thanks for the info. Glad you sent the article about those opposed to the loop. One of the developments we looked at was Covered Bridge. Looks like the proposed route will pass directly south of the subdivision. I'd love any feedback/comments on developments in the Hardin Valley area. I've done lots of research of subdivisions and have spoken with a couple of realtors during our trips to Knoxville. Everybody would love to sell us a house . . . just want to make sure we have all the info we need to make the right decision.

Default detailed maps of project

I had a hard time finding detailed maps also... I found an excellent site with very detailed maps of the project. I hope you find it as helpful as I did at:Knoxville Parkway - Tennessee Department of Transportation
