I've seen the "things to do" lists for tourists, but wondered what your family favorites are for Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. We'll be staying in a hotel, and I know my kids are not going to be happy just hanging out in the room, going shopping. Taking a drive through the mountains, I'm sure will happen but after a nine hour drive to get there, it won't be a long trip.
Best places for hiking? Waterfalls?
Also favorite places where locals eat. Someone in our family already picked the Apple Barn. Your suggestions are welcome!

There are a blue bazillion things for kids to do in Pigeon Forge. You won't have to look far and there are brochures at nearly any gas station or stop you make along the Parkway.

If you can't find something your kids like to do in PF, you have a serious problem. Your hotel will have dozens of brochures and coupons for activities.

The aquarium is a must and there is a good waterfall hiking path. Try this link our son always loved hiking and he is in that age range (4yo).

Default Things for kids to do in the winter

Its hard to find things for kids to do in the winter time, between cold and rain. Any suggestions on places to take a 3 year old and 7 year old other than Chucky Cheese? lol

I will have my grandbabies for the long weekend and just trying to plan out some fun things for them. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Bundle them up and send them out in the backyard to play. Tell them you'll call them when lunch is ready. After lunch, send them out again and tell them you'll call them when dinner is ready.

Rinse and repeat.

There's a blast from the past that I'm sure they will enjoy.

West Town Mall has a nice little play area and a little train that drives around the mall. If it is not raining the zoo is open in February. You can also visit the East Tennessee Discovery Center nearby. The Bounce House at Callahan Drive. "Rapunzel" will be starting on February 24 at the Children's Theater but I guess that is too late. Ijams Nature Park is another good choice if it is not raining. There is also the Children's Museum of Oak Ridge. If nothing else, this coming weekend is The Dogwood Arts House and Garden Show. You can have fun and they get to walk around a bit.

LOL Suffering, that is definitely how we grew up!!

Hiknapster, you answered a couple of my questions! I couldn't remember if the mall had a little play area or not. My grandson LOVES places like the bounce house but I didn't know where one was and obviously was googling wrong. I will check out your other recommendations.

Thanks so much!!
