That is a good list, but apply to those places ahead of time to make sure you can actually get a job. We found all those companies before moving here, too, but whether they are hiring is another thing.

Of course, if you are a nurse or a truck driver, I think you can get a job wherever you move.

Wow Hiknapster, you do not sound very positive...(I hope the job situation is all not that bad) I am seeking to move to Knoxville, and when I was there I saw plenty of jobs in the Administrative field. But I understand that it really depends on what you are looking for up there. Also, you might get a huge pay cut too, but if the cost of living is much lower, it might not be so bad.... I am not moving without a job first obviously, and I am not going to buy anything just yet either. I am trying to get my husband to go up there seeking for a job first, and then I would reunite with him...He has a company in mind to apply to, but we must sell our home first though...

Surprisingly, Knoxville has a lot of TV production jobs.
Scripps (HGTV, Food TV, DIY, etc.) is headquartered here. Lots of high end, high tech jobs.
The E.W. Scripps Company
Jupiter entertainment is also headquartered here.
Jupiter Entertainment -- A Network Production Company
They always seem to be looking for post-production people.
Jewelry TV is also here and I think there's another Home Shopping Network type show here.

And it's Pilot not Petro that's headquartered here. Was thinking of chili.

Petro's headquarters are here, too. It was started at Knoxville's World's Fair.
