Are you out of your Drought?
Just curious if the area is out of its drought conditions yet.
Wondering if our proposed property is now back to what would be considered "normal" yet...the neighbor had said it floods when it rains and I'd like to have someone go take a look during/after a nice rain.
Thanks!

I'd be happy to look for you, but it's going to be awhile. Still no rain in sight.

No we aren't out of drought conditions but we've had quite a bit of rain in the past while. Some areas had much rain, some little. Are you talking about the Awana property? Floods when it rains? Anytime it rains? Is the property in a flood zone? Have you checked for perk? Many flood prone east TN properties have problems with perk.

My yard is D-E-A-D. They seeded it in early July and I gave up watering.
The weeds seem to be growing fine though.

I'm going to have to get out and water again. The elephant ears are flopping. I'm in a condo and do my gardening in large barrels and tubs. I also have several small water gardens and fountains and birdbaths which are getting a lot of action this year. Butterflies and hummingbirds in particular love the fountains and drippers.

Things improved somewhat in July, but where I live in Maryville, we've now gone 3 weeks without rain again.

Well, it rained a little bit in July, but it really didn't make much of a difference, we're so far gone. A couple of weeks ago, a tree fell in the woods and our power was knocked out for 24 hours.
I'm still valiantly trying to keep my deck garden alive, too. I've managed to eek out some vegetables, but not much. Water bill is pretty high.
