I have looked til I am going cross eyed to find houses for rent in the West Knoxville area. We thought we had a condo rented but the owner felt a single mom with 2 kids needed it more than we did. I have no problem with that because I was a single mom too.

Our problem is, I have googled til I can't google any more. I am not finding many places with homes for rent. All I can find are apartments. At my age, I am not looking for an apartment. I want to rent a house without paying $1,500 a month or more to do it! Any suggestions on where to look to find something?? My husband has been staying in a hotel during the week for the past month. We are past ready to find a home and get moved.

Any input is appreciated!!

You can check on Craigslist.
You can check in the News Sentinel.
You can check in Metro Pulse.
You can check with Real Estate companies that have rental/lease departments.
You can drive around neighborhoods you like and look for For Rent signs.

I would concur with Barking Spider.

Craigslist is where we found our first rental, though it was in Sevier County. When we contacted the number, we found it was an agent in Sevierville who not only owned a realty company but listed property rentals as well.

Trust me, I so feel your pain. It can really drive you insane, especially if you don't know the area well! You can look on the Knoxville Board of Realtors website as well. I believe they still have an option to look for leased homes. Try KAARMLS when you google search and go from there.

Best of luck to you!

What was the name of the agent in Sevierville yuns went thru? Was it expensive for some of the rental properties they listed?
