2 additional Blockbuster Stores have closed in the Knoxville area

The stores were located at the following address':
5529 Clinton Highway

6940 Maynardville Pike (Halls)

The two stores remaining are located at:

9450 S Northshore Dr (Suite 112) in South West Knoxville

513 W Lamar Alexander Pkwy (in Maryville)
This store is moving to a different location but NOT closing

This should not come as a surprise for many considering just how many other options there are for renting movies/TV Shows.

I can't remember the last time I was in a video store - it has to be more than 5 years, maybe longer.

I didn't know there were any still open.

In other news, there are a lot of Blockbuster kiosks opening up around the city. There's one right down the street from me. Or you can stream your movies or use Video On Demand from your cable provider.

Wake me when something exciting happens.

Greg and I were just talking about this sort of thing. I can't recall seeing more than a few mom n pop type video stores and this area lost two Blockbusters and has one remaining to service a rather large area.
Kiosks and companies like Netflix are sounding the death knell for video rental stores.
