Hello.

I'm flying into Knoxville for a job interview with a large company and I'd like to know if wearing a suit and tie to the interview would be expected or if business casual would be a better choice. The job is a professional position, but not executive or management level.

I'm planning on bringing a suit and tie.

Thanks!

Our employees wear business casual except for casual Fridays when jeans are OK, and if going to a commission meeting where a tie is appropriate. Still, 99% of applicants for jobs including internal will wear a suit or at least nice slack, dress shirt and tie. I started wearing ties for interviewing to make them feel more comfortable.

Always wear a suit and tie for the interview-with very rare exceptions.

Dress to impress, no matter the job. Best rule of thumb.

I vote for the suit and tie. Good luck! Hope it goes well.

Always better to over-dress than under-dress.

My dad always told me to dress for the position you plan to have one day and not the one you have right now.

No matter what, always dress in your best for a job interview. I guess they stopped teaching this stuff awhile back. Blue business suits are always preferable. For less formal settings, males should at least wear a decent shirt and tie. Women should wear a dress or business suit, sensible heels and not cross their legs. I'm sure I'm old-fashioned but it is always better to look your best than to not.
