No, but I'll look into it.

If you do could you post the price per pound? We're running about $2.45 per pound for a half here.

Wow, I didn't know you could buy Kobe beef in Knoxville. I'm not much of a red meat eater, but I did have a Wagyu steak in New York recently and it was amazing. It cost something like $100/lb, so I'm glad the client was paying!

If there's a demand, Costco will probably carry some really expensive meats and gourmet foods. They tend to market match. The one close to me in L.A. stocked pricier merchandise than some of the ones in outlying areas.

I love the meat at Earthfare in Turkey Creek. Excellent butcher there. All their meat is oreganic, no hormones, free range. A little more expensive but so much better.
Best looking shortribs I've seen in a long time. They make specialty sausages. I love their lamb sausage, also their stuffed chicken breasts. Excellent meatloaf -- just take it home and cook.
And check out their prepared meats in the deli/prepared foods part. Last week I tried a couple of slices of wild rice and herb stuffed pork loin that was out of this world. Don't know what it had for a crust but it was wonderful.
Only place else I buy meat is Target. I love the Jenni-O Turkey Italian and Bratwurst sausages and they seem to be the only ones that carry them.

Yes, they say you lose about 20% as waste when cut and wrapped.

I love it, too! I don't eat a lot of meat, but it's always a treat to go there. I think it's worth the little extra you pay, because you know what you're getting.

I agree completely. I also find that when I buy organic roast beef, I don't need to eat as much of it in order to satisfy my craving for the beefy flavor. So really, I think it comes out about even.

And if you've never had one of Earth Fare's hand-made sandwiches, you owe it to yourself to go get one. It takes them a while to make your sandwich once you order it, but holy geez they're good.

Earth Fare also has an exceptional selection of raw (meaning non-pasteurized) cheeses from France and Switzerland. If you think you like Swiss cheese, that raw French emmental will knock your socks off.

I just wish it wasn't such a long haul to drive out to Turkey Creek! I think an Earth Fare closer to campus/downtown/4th and Gill would do great.

At any rate, Earth Fare and Costco. I like that combination.

I've never been to Earth Fare. I've never even been to Turkey Creek. I think I'll go there on Saturday.

You should go! I think you'll enjoy it. Just walking around and window shopping-- and people watching-- is something fun to do on a pretty day. Especially if you start with a sandwich from Earth Fare.
