Question Loudon Street Names

Just have to ask - where do the unusual street names in Loudon come from? We just started looking at homes in the area and I can't pronounce many of the street names, example: Daleyusski, Inagehi, Oostanali, etc. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

American Indian names. The area used to be heavily populated (as it were back in the day) by Indian tribes. The Cherokee Indians had a capital somewhere around there as well.

Thanks for the information - we've been laughing about how we would give directions to our home if we couldn't pronounce the street names!

Yes, the capital was in Chota in the Vonore/Tellico Village (Loudon) area for many years before they moved west. I can't remember if some of the Indian names were already there after Tellico Village was established sometime in the 1970s/early 1980s.

ah just make up your own pronunciation. Spelling it though may be difficult. We Americans are good at butchering languages LOL
