Fall is here and I am about ready to do some traveling. I don't like leaving my mail unattended and there are no mailbox rentals in my area.
Can anyone recommend a good mail box rental in or around Knoxville close to I-40 like the Farragut area?

UPS store. There is one north of I40 on Cedar Bluff, and one south of I40 near Kingston Pike on Peters Road (near Lowes)

Thanks Barking Spider I will check them out.

As for the PO; there is a waiting list for PO boxes at my local PO. Secondly I have received mail and packages in the mail that were opened. Of course the machines did it. However I find it a little unnerving when I get a credit card or bank statement that is open for all to see. There are also rumors that not all mail carriers are as honest as would like them to be.

Speaking to trust, I just saw a story on the local Knoxville news about an ambulance driver who took money from the home of a deceased person. I am not sure where trust is headed in this world but it is getting pretty bad when a medical worker and people who we must trust, like mailmen/women, violate that trust.

Thanks for your posts.

That's what your neighbors are for and you for them! You live in a retirement area, surely someone can do this? My dad lives in Florida and he does it for people all the time and they for him.

Are you going to be traveling for more than 30 days? If not why not have the PO hoild your mail?

There's a Going Postal in Farragut on Kingston Pike. They have mailboxes (I think) and a website you could check.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly.
By getting a mailbox rental, won't you have to have your mail forwarded to that new rental? Wouldn't it be easier to ask your mail carrier to place your mail on hold while you are away and they will deliver all your mail when you return.
Pam
