area between Newport and Parrottsville?
ok, have looked at several areas and received a ton of terrific info from all on areas we have been looking at, Jones Cove, Sevierville, Cosby and al. We really liked Dandridge, but can not find anything in our price range in that area. We are now looking into an area between Newport and Parrottsville, any info on this area? We have looked up some info on the Newport area, can not find any pics of the town, or a feel of the area. Is Parrottsville concidered a suburb of Newport? NO info about Parrotsville online that we can find. The place we are looking at is just a few miles from Newport, but nice to know about at least a couple towns we would be living by.

I'm heading to Newport actually this morning for 6 days. I'll take some pictures and post them when i get back for you. I bought land just in the same area as your looking between Newport and Parrottsville in a subdivision which is actually on the border of the two towns. Parrottsville is basically just a drive through and you might miss it kind of place. You'll do your shopping in Newport but it's only 5 miles to town.

Oh, I love Parrotsville! Not sure it can be considered a suburb of anything, especially Newport ( ). The good part about it is that it's also not *too* far from west Greeneville via the Newport Hwy.

Just got back from TN this evening. I'll try to get those pics posted tomorrow sometime when i get a chance to download them. We did drive through Parrotsville because i forgot what it was like but basically all it had was 1 convienience store on the corner and that was it. Lots of beautiful rolling hills with some very nice homes built up on the tops. Beautiful area. You'd just have to take a drive on 321. I didn't get any pictures because stupid me left my camera in my luggage back at the house and i didn't know we would take a joy ride out that way at that time. Sorry about that but i did get some pics and video of Newport for you.

I vacation at Meadow Creek Mountain Rustic Resort outside Parriottsville. meadowcreekmountain.com is the web site. It is a great place to say as it has numerious cabins to rent, a restaurant, beer/wine bar, live music and dancing Fri and Sat, horse back riding, a pool and backs up to part of National Forest. The town is very small with a store, fire station, B&B, and a few homes. I looked for land out that way but the cost has sky rocketted the last few years. I bought land on Clinch Mountain by Morristown and will build and retire there. Good luck on the land hunt.

Hi there! I grew up in Cosby, and I spent a lot of time in Newport and Parrottsville as a kid. Parrottsville is a separate town, and it's actually much older than Newport (but also much smaller). Have you looked at Greeneville? It's a much nicer town than Newport, and it's only about 15 miles or so past Parrottsville.
