Congratulations all around. Now I know why I didn't hear back from you after you just asked me about Maryville.

We found our spot in Maryville this weekend and will be making an offer within the next 2 days - Monday at the latest. Hubby wants to do all of the number crunching with our agent one more time.
I am so excited that I am bursting at the seams! Plus, I found out this morning I am going to be a granma times two!! How great is that?
I am using the computer at the Comfort Inn that we are staying at so I will fill in the blanks later when we return home.
Thank you everyone for helping us with this monumental move. You have all been such a tremendous help and an unmeasureable source of support and welcome. We are so anxious to finally get here to our beautiful E. TN.
(I wore my orange sweater proudly all day today! Better go watch the game!)

Congratulations on everything! Keep us posted on your move to Maryville.
And thanks also for wearing your orange sweater, too!

Gayle,
That is just terrific! I have been wondering how things were going since hubby got to retire. Things moved quickly for you, that is great.

You know, Catsndogs, I could have sworn I got back to you by PM before we left early Thurs. But, I do apologize if I didn't! Somebody out there got a big "thank you" from me and you can keep it, but I had meant one for Catsndogs, too!!!
I printed out your places to see and travel and took it with us the next morning. I had some good ones from SmokyMtnGal tucked into my bag, too. We were able to hit just about every road, subdivision, shopping center, scenic route and McDonald's rest room in a 25 mile radius in about 4 days!
We revisited many lots and subs that we had earmarked, but had just about decided on what we wanted as we made our 4 hour trip up Rte. 129 Thurs. morning. When we pulled into the development to look at it again, lo and behold, it was now someone else's special place! After the tears stopped I told my husband that there were so many special areas that we really loved in Blount Co. that there was so sense in grieving for the one that got away.
By Saturday afternoon, we were in love again. Not just my husband and me...that's a given, but a new special place right across the street from our first choice!
Don't ever overlook the diamond in the rough. There may be a wonderful jewel under all of that roughness.
I will fill you in on more details once we get things hammered out with our realtor and the owner. We really must go through due diligence first. But, it looks like a keeper to us.
Thanks to all of you with all of your great suggestions and tips.

Don't preheat the oven just yet though! We still have to sign some papers, hand over the cash, and get this N. GA galleon sold! We sure hope it doesn't take too long. I will finally relax once we have a document in our possession!
You will definitely be notified so you can get the welcome ready. As a matter of fact, it will be our treat!
I think we will be just a few minutes from you, so we will definitely be neighbors. We are pretty excited; I hope the time whizzes by.

You guys are great!
Thank you bbkaren, AlisonL, JMT, Bones, and Deborah53 for your good wishes and all of your very insightful posts.
You have all been so great with helping, not just me, but so many to know the area and many wonderful things to see and do in E. TN. Your suggestions on how to adjust, contribute and appreciate all the things that make Tennessee so appealing to so many has been invaluable. I hope that when I become a permanent resident of TN I can do the same for someone else trying to know the area.
You are all good neighbors already across state borders and beyond.

Hey, thus is really cool and hectic finding a new home. I am excited for you and glad you knew the area pretty well. Did you see all of that development on 411? It must look a bit different than the last time you were here. Take it easy, if possible. Are buying land only or a house, too? Thanks for getting back with all of the traveling, even.
