My husband can work immediately when we get to Knoxville, but I need to find emloyment as well. Is it a good idea to just move and me look while he works, or should I start looking and applying first? Thanks to all !!

Depends.

Does he make enough to survive on while you look? Are there a lot of jobs in your line of work in Knoxville?

These are only questions that you can answer.

I guess I should have been more specific. Sorry 'bout that ! My husband will be doing tile work that pays around $650 a week. My field is criminal justice, focusing on corrections. I've heard that one needs to be a resident for a period of time (not sure how long) before being able to be hired in this field. So I thought of getting a regular job (I have worked at banks before, and managed a gas station/convenience store) while putting my resume out for openngs in my field.

Good news!

It looks like there is not a minimum residency requirement for a Knox County corrections officer!
