No problem.

Every place seems to do it differently.

Just be glad you aren't trying to figure out the state sales tax.

It depends on where you live. Where I live, I have KUB for gas, West Knox Utilities for water, and Lenoir City Electric for electric. I have a septic system.

IN some parts of Knoxville, KUB does it all.

I understand that. What I don't understand is why it is three times the amount of water. My sewer bills generally ran twice as much as my water. Not to mention that the overall bill is HUGE. I'm looking at my bill from last July. Bear in mind that I was watering a lot of plants. My water bill was $13 and my sewer was $26!

Oh! And I used 3 ccf of water.

Now back to the real subject at hand. I have Shady Grove Utility District and my water bill runs about 23.00 a month for water. I have a septic system.............
OK, I have an off topic question on Shady Grove water.
We used to have that, for the first 4 years we lived here. Is it just me or does it just smell on some days? And does your tub or sinks get the pink goo from the water?

We live in Sevierville now and have Sevierville water and sewer. We are off the septic, which I'm kind of happy about...for now that is. Our water/sewer bill is about $40 a month. My husband takes two showers a day though, he has to after work, so really we use about enough water for 3 to 4 instead of 2 people. I don't think that price is bad considering in Ohio our water/sewer was double that.

I've got KUB for all, and my last bill for 29 days was

Water-Residential basic service $10.00
water for 7 Ccf $13.75
tax $2.20

Total $25.45

Wastewater-Residential basic service $20.00
Wastewater Ccf $44.90

Total $64.90

If you understand it, then you already know why.

If you have to do more to something, then it costs more.

Does KUB own its water source, or does it buy it from another utility? How far does it have to pump sewer out? How old are the pipes? are they Leaky and take in a lot of stormwater they are paying to pump out also? Did KUB recently upgrade sewer pipes they are trying to pay for?

All these things factor in.

KUB sewer rates have risen dramatically in the last few years because of the PACE 10 sewer repairs. It is a massive infrastructure project.

Man. When did that start? Just another reason I'm glad we left.

Honestly I have a bad sniffer, but I do not smell anything and I do not notice any film on the sinks or tubs......
