Hi everyone! I'm a recent graduate of UNC Asheville who will be moving to West Knoxville in a couple of weeks. I have a degree in International Studies and speak Spanish and Portuguese pretty proficiently, and have translation experience.
I'm wondering if you guys have any tips on where I should look in West Knoxville. I'm open to any entry level clerical/administrative work, though I would prefer some sort of international component if that's at all possible.
I have heard that the economy is better than in Asheville--is there a decent chance of finding work in the first few weeks?

You might have a tough time finding a job to match your skills. However, there are numerous entry level clerical jobs around, but the pay usually reflects the "entry level" part.

I'm not sure. There are a lot of people from other countries here, especially in Oak Ridge. There are international companies. She might benefit from seeking advice from headhunters and employment agencies.

Here's some info about our unemployment rate.

COL is better here than in Asheville.

There are several call centers around Knoxville...Marriott, ADT Security, SiTel and Comast are the ones that come immediately to mind. I'm sure there are others. These type of jobs are ALWAYS looking for Bi-lingual employees. These might be a great place to start! Good Luck!

Welcome to Ktown and I would probably suggest you contact the Hispanic Chamber as they would be best in knowing what would work. There are several Hispanic law firms, that would probably love to have you.
