Hey, hiknapster and Painter - you two sweet friends! I didn't mean to make anyone feel responsible for me missing my kids!! I think I was just put on this planet to raise kids - mine and everyone else's.
I miss them everyday!! I am particularly bummed because one of them may not be able to make it for our annual "everyone here at Mom's and Dad's place" event in Dec. And, one d-i-l just took a new position and doesn't have any vaca time to come with my son and grandbaby!
The rest of us will still have a wonderful time together, but after 38 years of all being together at least ONCE a year, this year will probably be the first that it doesn't happen.
They all call everyday, but it isn't the same as yukking it up around the breakfast table for a week or playing with all of the kiddies and tucking them in at night for a whole week. We'll just have to make a couple more trips ourselves this next year!
I'm the same blubbering nut about my siblings, favorite aunt, and parents, too. I hear a song or see a deer in the yard or some other memory prodding event, and I am a waterworks gone out of control.
Painter, that sure does sound promising. Very smart of you to spiffy up the front. We did the same this summer with a new front door surround and hardware, lovely cast iron urns on either side of the front door and lots of flowers. Boy, I hate to move! HAHA - just kidding.
I'll be wishing and hoping that you hear back tomorrow with some very good news.
Hik, you are right about Lauren leaving the house. Why isn't as painful for them as it is for us? They act happy. It must all be an act, right?

Dropping in to say hello to everyone.
A band called Exile is going to be performing in Pigeon Forge next Sunday at Smith Family Theater and they have Sevier Resident price so I got us two tickets, the band was nominated 11 times for Vocal Group and had 13 #1 hits in Country Music so it should be fun.
Going to Dollywood Tues and make up for the trip I missed a couple weeks ago.
I leave on the 16th for Fl instead of the 17th and coming back a little sooner. I will be seeing Suzanne and her DH while I'm down there, looking forward to seeing her again.
Well, weekend is almost gone, hope everyone had a nice one.

Oh, gailli, you will love Exile's show. Two of their pop hits are still among my favorites: "Kiss You All Over" and "Take Me Down". I am so glad that they got back together and are in country now. Have a great time!
Please give my best to Suzanne1945. She is such a nice lady and friend to our merry little band.

Hi Y'all!
Just wanted to stop by here and tell my CD friends why I won't be around here for the next few weeks. My Mom is having a knee replacement surgery tomorrow morning in Rogersville. She is 70, but a young 70, she doesn't look or act her age for sure! hahahahha
However, she does have a heart condition (Restrictive Cardio Myopothy sp?) and she had a back surgery in 06' so they can not use a epidural. This means anesthesia. Normally this is typical and not a concern, with her heart, it is a concern here. I am not so worried about the recovery period because she wants this new knee so bad because she just hates to be slowed down, the surgery it self, well if she makes it through that all is good.
Dad being older than Mom by a few years and the fact that they live way out in the country means I will be going to stay with them during her recovery, after she is released from the hospital, hopefully on Friday, until she is mobile. Unfortunately they have dial up at the house and as far away from the phone lines station as possible. To say it is slow is an understatement! hahahahaha So I won't be on line much over then next few weeks. Please be good to SMG and remember to use the "report post" feature if there is something you see that should be looked at by a mod. And please remember our motto's around here, " Respect others" and "Don't feed the trolls!" A lot of us have been interacting with each other on this great TN forum and sub forums for a couple of years (can ya believe it!?!) and you know I am not one to ask this, but if you can say an extra prayer for Mom, I would appreciate it.
I will be here hit and miss this week, but probably not much at all the next week or so. But wanted to let y'all know before hand so no one will worry.
Gem, my current situation should make you feel better, see kids may go out on thier own, but if you ever need us we always are there for Mom when it really counts.
Couple of weeks worth of hugs all around.

mbmouse- The prayers will go up! Your moms state of mind has alot to do with the procedure and rehab and it sounds like she is up to it. Take care of her and yourself and I will say an extra prayer for your family.

Have a wonderful couple of weeks with your folks, MB. We'll miss you.
My prayers will definitely include your mom, MB - and, Dad, too. He is probably a little apprehensive over this upcoming surgery, too. Blessings on you all.
You are a great daughter to go spend the time with them. I will forever be thankful that things worked out so that I could spend wonderful time with my parents in their later years. It brought us all joy and peace.
Life goes around in a full circle. First, parents give their all to their children and then, children give theirs to their parents - just as it should be.
Take care, MB. You will enjoy this time away with your folks and they will, as well.

mbmouse, my prayers go out to you and to a speedy recovery for your Mom. I lost my Mom in 88 at the age of 72, way too young and I miss her as much today as I did back then, she was my best friend in life and I miss her terribly. God bless you and her and the rest of your family. My mom lived with me at the time she died and I'm grateful I had all the extra time I had with her by her being with me all the time.
Gem, thanks for the upbeat message on Exile, I am looking forward to it, got second row aisle seats, could have had front row but chose not to. I will report on it.

mbmouse, you and your Mom and Dad will be in my prayers during the coming days and weeks!! Please let your Mom know that she has alot of prayers being said on her behalf from your friends at C-D!! Be sure to take care of yourself too, and get plenty of rest!! Sometimes caregivers spend all of their energy on the patient, and become rundown in the process!!! We will be anxiously awaiting your return with news of your Mom's successful surgery!!!

Thanks y'all! Everyone here is so sweet and all the prayers and good thoughts do mean a lot to us. I will tell Mom.
Well I am off, just found out her surgery has been pushed from 6:45am to 10:30 am which is fine. Also just found out I have to run son to Dr's for a quick appointment before I get to Rogersville......when it rains it pours! LOL!!!
Off I go, but I will be sure to get a few minutes to pop on here tomorrow to let you know the surgery went just fine as I know it will be!
