Its been a few days and look at all the things I have missed.
Painter add me to the list of people having everything crossed!! I'm not sure which was worse the waiting for any feedback, feedback that made you hopeful or the "pretty sure this is it" wait period. That roller coaster ride is exhausting!
Pam I am so glad you have been able to post again and that all is well. We sometimes take for granted hearing from someone on a very regular basis.
Babette your reunion sounds like the perfect kind made in Hollywood. Hopefully you realize how lucky you are. Enjoy renewing friendships and catching up with everyone.
SMG welcome back. That stretch of I-40 is pretty even without fall color, so I can imagine how nice it must have started looking when you drove through.
MBMouse I am hoping your DM's recovery is still on track and she is recovering well. She is lucky to have you there for her.
Bones does this dog house have a view as nice as the house?? I always picture a 'house in snow' when I think of you! You've done an impressive amount of work on the homestead.
Piperspal that happens to me all the time! This is a very chatty but also very friendly group and really represents the area very well. So far I have found that better than 95% of the people I have met in and around Knox have been exceptionally friendly, helpful and downright polite! Knox does seem a bit much initially especially if you are expecting something smaller. It reminds me a lot of the lower Hudson Valley or even Danbury CT in the way it has spread but it becomes rural so quickly which you don't see heading south towards NYC. It is certainly not Wappingers... although that has been changing too and isn't what it once was... more like Poughkeepsie. Kingston is a good comparison as well!! We happen to have been contacted recently by someone we knew years ago who lived up in/near Fishkill. They now live in Knox and are still happy that they made the move and don't miss NY at all. We did the same search (VA,NC, KY, PA and TN) plus a bunch of states and ares out west and TN kept coming back to the top of the list for us. We finally found the right combination to be Maryville for us. Come back and check it out!
Mystic you have been very quiet, so I wanted to make sure I said hi. I've been wondering what you were up to? Same goes for HIK, except she hasn't been as quiet.

LOL Have you finally done some more painting HIK? I thought my house was "move in ready" but for some reason there has been an endless parade of stuff to do and I haven't even started with the landscaping beyond making my little tiny garden.
Gem I'm hoping to see you up here again real soon. How is the 'vette doing? Is DH alright now that the shock has worn off and repair bills have come in?
Gailli hope you are enjoying the concert.
Last but not least, Suzanne I am waving towards the south with a big hello. It seems like the time is finally getting close for you to be getting up here and joining the family for real. Next spring I hope we can go do some shopping for plants together for our new homes! You'll have the benfit of some of my mistakes!
If I have forgotten someone I am apologizing in advance... the old brain ain't what she used to be!
