Pam, hope you and Bill are getting settled in and each day you have fewer boxes to deal with!

I am still in NC at my high school reunion......last night we went to the football game, but it was raining, and we all opted to skip the game and head to the restaurant and had an absolutely fantastic time of getting reacquainted (There were about 50 of us)!!! I can't remember the last time that I've had as much fun as I had last night......and the actual REUNION is tonight, so there will be even more folks showing up tonight and I am so excited to see the rest of the group!! It really makes me homesick for my hometown!!! I love it here, but I also love East TN, so don't worry - I'll be back home tomorrow night!!!

Looking forward to lunch with Suzanne and her DH also(had lunch with her DH yesterday in Townsend)What a beautiful drive we had going in to meet him, all the oranges and reds and yellows, going to be a beautiful Fall this year.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, Painter, still got everything crossed for you, sitting here right now with legs crossed. Good Luck

Bebette - enjoy the reunion! I love seeing all of my old classmates. Also, we just drove I-40 between TN and Asheville and that is absolutely gorgeous. I think western NC is breathtaking.

Gailli - wishing you safe travels and lots of fun visiting family. How nice that you have been able to make friends with Suzanne and Mr. Suzanne.

Painter - I am on pins and needles waiting to hear from you about the house!!!

Pam - Are you guys settled in now?

Hope all are having a great day. Busy weekend here but oh so fun. This weather is amazing!

J&Em will become famous soon enoughJ&Em will become famous soon enoughJ&Em will become famous soon enough
Its been a few days and look at all the things I have missed.

Painter add me to the list of people having everything crossed!! I'm not sure which was worse the waiting for any feedback, feedback that made you hopeful or the "pretty sure this is it" wait period. That roller coaster ride is exhausting!

Pam I am so glad you have been able to post again and that all is well. We sometimes take for granted hearing from someone on a very regular basis.

Babette your reunion sounds like the perfect kind made in Hollywood. Hopefully you realize how lucky you are. Enjoy renewing friendships and catching up with everyone.

SMG welcome back. That stretch of I-40 is pretty even without fall color, so I can imagine how nice it must have started looking when you drove through.

MBMouse I am hoping your DM's recovery is still on track and she is recovering well. She is lucky to have you there for her.

Bones does this dog house have a view as nice as the house?? I always picture a 'house in snow' when I think of you! You've done an impressive amount of work on the homestead.

Piperspal that happens to me all the time! This is a very chatty but also very friendly group and really represents the area very well. So far I have found that better than 95% of the people I have met in and around Knox have been exceptionally friendly, helpful and downright polite! Knox does seem a bit much initially especially if you are expecting something smaller. It reminds me a lot of the lower Hudson Valley or even Danbury CT in the way it has spread but it becomes rural so quickly which you don't see heading south towards NYC. It is certainly not Wappingers... although that has been changing too and isn't what it once was... more like Poughkeepsie. Kingston is a good comparison as well!! We happen to have been contacted recently by someone we knew years ago who lived up in/near Fishkill. They now live in Knox and are still happy that they made the move and don't miss NY at all. We did the same search (VA,NC, KY, PA and TN) plus a bunch of states and ares out west and TN kept coming back to the top of the list for us. We finally found the right combination to be Maryville for us. Come back and check it out!

Mystic you have been very quiet, so I wanted to make sure I said hi. I've been wondering what you were up to? Same goes for HIK, except she hasn't been as quiet. LOL Have you finally done some more painting HIK? I thought my house was "move in ready" but for some reason there has been an endless parade of stuff to do and I haven't even started with the landscaping beyond making my little tiny garden.

Gem I'm hoping to see you up here again real soon. How is the 'vette doing? Is DH alright now that the shock has worn off and repair bills have come in?

Gailli hope you are enjoying the concert.

Last but not least, Suzanne I am waving towards the south with a big hello. It seems like the time is finally getting close for you to be getting up here and joining the family for real. Next spring I hope we can go do some shopping for plants together for our new homes! You'll have the benfit of some of my mistakes!

If I have forgotten someone I am apologizing in advance... the old brain ain't what she used to be!

J & Em,

Good to hear from you. Have you been going to the Foothills Fall Festival? We went to the concert last night, the crafts today and as soon as the game is over we are going back out to the concert again tonight.

Let me know if you're going!!!
