knoxnews.com : Knoxville, Tennessee, News, Business, Homes, Jobs, Cars & Information for online news. And as far as news reports on TV it just depends on what you are looking for. One is hometown, one is a bit of sensationalism and the other barely keeps up; in my opinion. In no order they are WATE 6 News - HOME, WVLT - Home Knoxville, Tennessee - Breaking News, News, Weather, Sports and Traffic from VolunteerTV.com. and WBIR.com - Home - Knoxville, TN. And they all have a ways to go to rival anything produced in Atlanta or another larger market. Don't get me started on weather reports either. Whatever they say; plan for the opposite. Sorry. I got off on a little rant.

I'm just curious. I only visited for 2 days last year. I will be there the week after Thanksgiving so I'll figure the city out then, but it never hurts to get others opinions, right?

I've only been here a few days but I've stayed in my own little corner...haven't even seen anything west of the West Town Mall yet. Hope to venture a little farther east tomorrow, gotta get out of my comfort zone

Would you believe that Litton's receive national recognition during the Gator/Gamecock game last. As always, one of the announcers visits a local eatery in the home city. Afater plugging a local SC restaurant, a list appeared that included Litton's as the place with the best bacon cheeseburger! The only TN restaurant to get such a plug. Good choice SMG! We will have to venture a trip there on one of visits to our TN home or for certain after we make the permanent move.

Hmmm, I think the answer to your question depends on the person and their lifestyle. It isn't odd for me to go from Maryville to Knoxville to work, lunch in Fountain City (hello Litton's!), out by West Town Mall or Turkey Creek for some shopping before heading home and then back to Maryville in a day. Then, there are the weekends when we either stay in Maryville, head into the Smokies, go up to the Tri Cities. Last Sunday we went down to Etowah. I know some folks never venture out of their neighborhood. Have a safe trip here.

Hiknapster - I thought of you today when I went to one of my haunts, The Cook's Corner, and popped in Earth Fare while I was there

Just a quick hello, all. I am using the Mainstay Hotel computer really quickly to check in with all of you. Want to be sure you are behaving yourselves.

We are going to meet with a man (civil engineer, I think) that our realtor set up for us to look at our property-to-be to check for drainage and house siting before we sign the dotted line.

Have to get to Fountain City tomorrow, also, to take a look around. The pictures that have been posted are great and we would like to visit while we are here this time.

Yikes, you got me on my grammar there! What a difference an "into" would have made! Funny, my husband pointed out a grammar transgression of mine on the way home from Earth Fare today as well. For those of you that might be worried about my husband; yes, he is still alive

No, no, I didn't even notice your grammar and matched your transgression with one of my own, since I ended a sentence with a preposition.

I was actually making a little pun about how much damage you did to your wallet (or rather its contents). I used to be much funnier, back when I was getting paid for it.

I like Earth Fare and I like their stuff; but wowee on their prices. As my gramma used to say: "they're proud of their stuff aren't they?" I tend to only buy the things there that I can't get anywhere in Murvil. I did a lot more damage to my wallet at The Cook's Corner; as usual. I love that place and the girls that work (own?) it. What fun! Of course, I went to Mom's after that (she lives in Farragut) and that was the bestest. What is it about going to Mom's house that makes one feel all warm inside....
