As for "stuff" to do, did anyone attend the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert last night?

Whoa. They were here? Why do I keep missing these things? I would have LOVED to seem them. I was dying for something to do this weekend. That would have been the epitome.
I am at loss on where to find a periodical or website that tells you the local happenings.

I check for things in Metro Pulse. It has great info on what's going on, now and for the coming weeks. Available free at most grocery stores, Wal-Marts, etc. plus news racks around town.
It's a weekly, comes out on Thursdays. It's also online.
The News-Sentinels Friday entertainment section is also available free at a lot of places where there are a bunch of newspaper racks.

Thanks! I'm getting the Metro Pulse, but I think I am getting it several days late. I probably should go online or get it when it comes out.
Does anyone know about "The Nutcracker" coming here? I think the Russian ballet is doing it?
And what about the Messiah?
I think JMT might have information on this?

Moscow Ballet is doing the Nutcracker at the Tennessee Theatre on Nov. 25.

One of my favorite Christmas events is the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra's Swinging Christmas concert at the Tennessee Theatre. That's on Dec. 18 this year.
Appalachian Ballet will be at the Coliseum in November with the Nutcracker.

This is really something to look forward to!!
Thanks, knoxgarden. It's great to see that it is an annual event. I just returned from the Tennessee Theatre website and they have a wonderful lineup.

We have wonderful live jazz here, thanks to Donald Brown who teaches at UT. UT has an excellent jazz department. He's started a Jazz Festival that draws some top talent.
Next time you're in town, try Cha Cha's on a Friday or Saturday night. Excellent Tapas and Brown usually plays then. Always a good idea to call and check, though.

I just hear about happenings from people at work. Without them I would be lost. We do a lot of passing stuff around. I just got handed two seats to the football game tomorrow. And I just handed off my tickets for next weeks hockey game.

Sounds like a fair trade-off.
Was it a trade, SmokyMtnGal? I'd take the football tickets any day! It will be a great fall day for the game, too.
Have fun.
