37922 and 37934. West Knoxville is not a town, it is an area. There are communities in West Knoxville that are named Bearden, Farragut, etc. Either one of those zips are in nice areas. Once you search those it comes down to personal preference when you visit here; where you will be working, individual schools, etc. Hope this helps.

The only incorporated township in west Knox County is the Town of Farragut; it's zip codes are 37922-33-34. Although Farragut is a town they have no separate property tax like the City of Knoxville; you pay Knox County property taxes only in Farragut.
Most of the higher end housing in west Knox County is located west of the University of Tennessee starting with Sequoyah Hills and ending with the newer developments adjoining the Loudon County line. That is a very large area.
I referenced some very nice neighborhoods above as did you.
There is no "Town of West Knoxville", only Knoxville and the Town of Farragut; all the rest are just names of geographic areas like the Cedar Bluff Road area.
The west Knoxville areas as defined by our Multiple Listing Service appears on our maps as:
116: Westmoreland, Riverbend, Sequoyah Hills, West Hills
117: Concord, Bluegrass
118: Cedar Bluff
119: Northshore Drive, Choto
120: Farragut City
121: Lovell Road, Campbell Station
122: Hardin Valley (Hardin Valley is northwest but adjacent to Farragut separated by a ridge and Interstates 40 & 75)

Thank you for the zip codes they will come in handy while searching these areas. Actually, I will be working out of my home office but my wife will be going into her office in the city. I guess Farragut sounds good from what I hear so far. I am interested in the best area(s) for schools and recreation for my kids and ideal shopping centers and malls for my wife .
Thanks again...

I'd suggest looking at West Hills. It's an older suburb, close to the interstate and West Town Mall. It would be an easier commute to downtown. There's a big bottleneck every day past Cedar Bluff on I-40. This gets you off before there. Not a lot of new construction, but big sprawling ranches on huge lots, many of them remodeled. Lots of parks, soccer fields, a huge YMCA, big churches. When I first came to Knoxville, I had a part time job delivering the Wall Street Journal. I delivered a lot of them in that area. Zip code would be 37909.
The Westmoreland area is also very nice. Lots of WSJ delivered there. It's east of West Town Mall, between Westland and Nubbin Ridge. Some really nice subdivisions off Nubbin Ridge. Zip code is 37919.
It doesn't really take you that long to get to other sections of Knoxville for shopping if you have easy access to the interstate. I live a mile from West Town Mall and can be at Turkey Creek in 15 minutes or less, even at rush hour.

Fountain City, Powell, West Knox, Carter..
Areas close to the new Sysco plant are: Fountain City, Powell, West Knox, Carter... My parents live in Fountain City and love the schools there--the area is pretty tight knit. Powell is a very nice area with a good school system and homes sell quite quickly there. West Knox is where we live and there are several communites that would be a easy commute...house prices are a bit higher, but on the other hand, tend to sell quickly too. Carter is a nice area, more rural than the rest, but offers good house prices and will be in close proximity to your work...

My brother just moved from Westmoreland area to an older subdivision just west of I-140/Pellissippi Parkway and off Northshore Dr because of the school zoning changes. This is not an ancient subdivision, just not a real new one, and has lovely trees. It is right across Northshore from Carl Cowan Park which is on the lake and is a nice park. There was a house for sale in there near his when I last visited just after Christmas. Maybe one of the realtors can tell you the schools this area is zoned for, as it was very appealing to him and his wife. Children are 5,7 and 9. Very convenient location to get to everything - shopping, Pellissippi Pkwy [which goes to I-40 and to 129 which goes to Maryville], and the schools.

Schools...
Equescool...not sure exactly which s/d you're talking about; however, we have a friend that lives in very close proximity to the area you're describing and his kids go to A.L. Lotts Elementary, West Valley Middle, and Bearden High (although your brother's s/d may be zoned for Farragut...this area is right on the line)...My friend says these are excellent schools.

I called him. He lives in Bunker Hill, and these are the schools. They moved from Rocky Hill because they did not want the children to go to Bearden Middle School as they found out some rough kids go there, and there are daily problems. Apparently it does not seem to transfer to the high school because of how it is zoned for high school.
I lived in Farragut before it was fashionable and attended Tyson Jr High [now gone, but similar area], and there was the problem of the very wealthy and the very poor meshing. I was neither, and it was a learning experience for a farm girl. Back then there might be fist fights, but that was the extent of it. Nowadays you just don't know. So they moved. Everyone wants to live in a bubble. I don't blame them for wanting the safest possible scenario for their kids though, and it is a very nice and convenient area.
