Moving to Tennessee. What about these towns?
Looking at Lake City, Norris or Clinton to move to. Have a boy going into high school and my wife and I work in the medical field. Son is into football and soccer and so is my wife and I, also volleyball. I am looking for nice town with good educational system and close to I75 since I have family which will be visiting from time to time from Michigan. Have been all over the web and am having problem figuring out which towns go to what schools. Any help would be appreciated.

One of my favorite places to take photos is Norris but I don't know anything about living there. I've posted some photos of Norris in the general Tennessee forum Tennessee Photo thread including a photo of the middle school. They're at the end of the first page of photos. Norris is a small town and skews older. Not sure where kids go to high school but I think it's Anderson County High in Clinton so if your son is high school age you need to check out that school if you plan to live in Norris.
P.S. You should be asking questions about the three towns mentioned in the general Tennessee forum where people who live in those places would be more likely to see your post and give you answers.

Of those places, I like Norris the best. LauraC is right, Norris is in the Anderson County High School district. Clinton is a little larger, but I don't think Clinton High School has as good of an academic reputation as Anderson County. I have no statistics to back me up, it's just the general impression I have; my students at U.T. who went to Anderson County seem to be better prepared for college than those who went to Clinton.

Hi Mike!
For some reason I thought you were already here. I am not very schooled on the I 75 area, just wanted to wish you well in your search. Are you planning a trip down here anytime soon? What does your teen have to say about moving right before high school?
By the way, MHS is so-so on soccer but great at football. We are down I75, hand a left on I 40 and then about 15 more miles. We would love to have you here in Maryville.

All I know is the stud goalie at LMU is from Gibbs High. I have no idea if the program is strong or not.

My gf's son just graduated from Gibbs last year as co-Valedictorian. He was offered a full ride baseball scholarship as he was a starter in their very successful baseball program (I think they went to the state championship!). He turned it down to go to West Point Military Academy.

Jefferson County Better
Clinton and Anderson County Tennessee are not good places to live. Oak Ridge pollution is in Anderson County. Crime is high in Clinton. Jefferson County is rural and nicer. Close to Knoxville for good shopping. Beautiful views of Smoky Mountains in Dandridge and good recreation on Douglas Lake.

The good residents of Clinton, Oak Ridge, and Anderson County would take umbrage to your remarks. Jefferson County is more rural and maybe more desirable to some people, but not all. Your remarks are just personal opinions and generalizations, imo. And crime stats are just that, stats-a compilation of numbers that can be interpreted and analyzed many ways. Imo, both Clinton and Oak Ridge are nice places and I don't live in either place.

Well, according to the stats that I posted above, Dandridge has much higher crime than Clinton.
By the way, Lake City had fairly high crime stats and Norris' were practically non-existent, which has been pretty much what I've heard.
