UT Football is off to a great start this year! Brick by brick the program rebuild seems to be working. This is a young and inexperienced team but they had a good showing tonight. No doubt that have some tough games ahead but it has been actually fun to watch a UT game tonight!

Next Saturday the game is at Noon and will be televised on the SEC Network.

Very happy with the performance tonight. Obviously, there is still a lot of work to do...but not exactly where I thought we needed it.

I was a lot more concerned about the defense than the offense. The defense (outside of just a few plays) played outstanding. I thought the offense was much more inconsistent. Had the defense not held their ground for as long as they did, it could have been trouble. Worley's arm is not strong enough to effectively throw all of these screens...and that will come to bite us vs. a faster defense.

Anyways, a win is a win, and this one went pretty darn well for us. Now let's move on to Arkansas State. It's a short week, so we better get ready.

I am coming down to Neyland this year for the Kentucky vs UT football game. Kentucky has not beated UT in Knoxville since 1984 at Neyland. Vols are going to get much better in the future under Butch Jones. Anyhow it should be a blast.. TN vols fans usually are super friendly. I enjoy your college football game day atmosphere. Have a blessed day. -RL

That is going to be a good game. One of my very good friends, that I grew up in Kingsport with actually, has a son on the KY team. He had a great game Saturday and KY is hopefully going to get back on track this year. It's a bittersweet game for with Landon playing for KY. His dad played Football for UT but Lane Kiffin was horrible at recruiting and botched it up tremendously. So, here was a legacy player that left the UT family.

Have a safe trip to Knoxville!

Agree on all points. Worley showed confidence that surprised me. This offense that hasn't had time to actually meld together. Obviously this won't be a national championship year but I think that Butch has made great strides and it is showing. If they can keep positive momentum going this will really help with recruiting and rebuilding the brand. If we get a bowl game I will be thrilled. The schedule is never easy in the SEC and this year isn't any different. Really looking forward to Oct 25!

UT will be much better this year. It is tough to win in the SEC. SEC football is the best conference in America in football by far I don't care what anybody says. Georgia, Alabama, TexasAM, Missouri, South Carolina(despite the bad loss to TexasAM are still pretty good), Auburn, Ole Miss are all top 25. Seven top 25 teams plus Florida Gators always have talent.. and TN Vols are getting much better. Butch Jones is a good recruiter. SEC is stacked this year. I hope my Wildcats can at least beat Vanderbilt. We have not won an SEC game since beating the Vols in 2011. Have a blessed day. Good luck to your Vols.

Dont drink the Kool-Aid yet.

They seemed well coached....but, nowhere near ready for the SEC.

They looked surprisingly complete and relatively error-free. I think the talent is there to get to a bowl game, and maybe steal a win or two from a "maybe" game like Ole Miss or Florida. I don't think we can take UGA, Oklahoma, or Alabama, but I certainly thing the program is en route to recovery.

Oh Emi, I want that Bama win so bad. With Lane as the offensive coach and with our defense that will at least be a FUN game!

Obviously the score wasn't pretty -- it could've been better without the 2 picks in the end zone (1 ret for TD). But I liked the fight I saw.

This is a very green team...but there is a lot to hope for the future -- even this season. It gives our young boys some experience playing in a hostile environment on a big stage. That could prove valuable later in the season.

There's a lot of work left to do...lots of kinks to work out (including with some play calling)...but I definitely see this team moving in the right direction.
