I am debating moving to Knoxville or staying put in Fergus Falls. I had surgery on my back & they did the best they could but it is still not the greatest. I also have bursitis in my hips & receive shots for that.

Would I have problems finding specialists for these issues? If I would there would be no sense in leaving my doctors here. Any comments would be appreciated.

You shouldn't have trouble finding a specialist. There are plenty of good orthopedists in and around Knoxville.I'm partial to the Covenenat docs because my husband works for Covenant (that's the big fish in town) but there are also other docs who are associated with UT and some of the others. You can go to a referral websits to see a list of orthopedists.

Thank you. I'm on Medicare & have an agent that I will ask to check into my qualifications.

We have a tremendous amount of very good hospitals in the area, including the excellent University of Tennessee Medical Center. They are top-notch.

Also, partially due to our beloved University of Tennessee athletes, there are a lot of docs that specialize in orthopedics. The Knoxville Orthopaedics Clinic and Surgery Center is tops. My daughter had to have foot surgery a few years ago and she had one of the best pediatric surgeons in the country.

Thanks for the link. It looks great. One more thing to cross off my list.

Agree with Hik. KOC is a fantastic group of surgeons. They practice at various locations so I am sure that can be worked out to suit you and your payer status.

As with the staff that support the surgeons, and hospital/facility scores on many quality standards, remember that some quality metrics are now reportable to CMS (Medicare) and can be found on the internet. It's a team that cares for you.

Good luck to you!

Knoxville sounds better & better. Now I'm waiting on a settlement for my back injury & will have funds to visit. I've been watching your weather & it is so much better than ours. Can't wait to see what I've been dreaming about.
