Default Has anyone used a good cabinet maker they would refer?

We will soon be looking for a good cabinet maker, other than the Home Depot or Lowe's ready made cabinetry.

Has anyone on the forum used a local cabinet maker for an entertainment center, fireplace surround, or bath or kitchen remodel that they would recommend?

I am not looking for a fancy bells and whistles kind of kitchen design center, but an actual cabinet maker.

Thanks, folks.

There used to be one in the small, small, small, small, small community of Pioneer, Tn., 37847 (Scott County). Oh, and did I say Pioneer was small? I don't know the name of the person, but I was interested in having cabinets made and I got the info from a former coworker. Most likely, the postmaster in Pioneer would know the name of the person, if they are still making the cabinets. My inquiry was over 10 years ago, however.

Thanks, weisgarber. Pioneer looks like it is about 45 mins or so from Knoxville. Does that sound about right?

Depending on where you are in Knoxville, I would say about 45 minutes to slightly over one hour. Trying to remember here, I think you take the Huntsville, Tn. exit off I-75 N, and go west until you see the Pioneer P.O. on the right. It has been awhile since I have been through there. A phone call to the P.O. might be cheaper.

Gem, by the sounds of things you found yourself a house? Did I miss something?

Wildwood Cabinets did our entire house. They are in rural Maryville.

Not yet, Ucandoit, but the hunt is about to begin again. With a turn of events with hubby and I, we are thinking of buying existing and just adding the things that we enjoy in a home - like the built-ins, nice moldings and trim, updated kitchen and baths, etc.

We would like to take our time with it so really want to find someone who is willing to work with us one project at a time.

Thanks for asking, Ucandoit. We are so anxious to get underway that we are making our wish lists and plans before we even find a house! Now, that's enthusiasm.

Thanks, SMG. I will put them in my folder. I am anxious to talk to a couple now just to see if they are willing to work with us piece-meal.

Is this a small company? I assume you like what they did for you. I saw a picture of your kitchen and it was beautiful. That was your kitchen, wasn't it?
