If you don't mind driving about 10 (not even) miles to UT, this is what you need: Google search: Riverside Manor Apartments near Maryville, TN Home

Where are they? LOL
When I was visiting, I asked about 8 locals including a police officer and I still couldn't find riverside manor apts. They directed me all over the place! Also, I called and those rates on the website are wrong.....I was in Louisville and still couldn't find them.
Ted, are those apartments quiet? Are they built well, and do good maintenance?
Are there any reasonable apartments in Alcoa, or Maryville besides those? I had gotten some kind of list from the chamber but not sure what, or where they area.

A) Finding them without someone showing you, or first looking at it in Google Earth is tough, but not un-doable. As to the rates, they might be different, but they are still very reasonable.
B) The apartments are quiet 'enough'. It's apartment living; what do you want? They are all mostly wood frame construction, so you get creeky floors and can hear the neighbors 'engaged' if they make enough noise. The jets of the airport make more noise then most of the neighbors by a long shot, and it's not 'that bad'. The worst thing is if the winds are right (or wrong as the case may be) and you have your windows open or are outside, you can smell the sewer treatment plant but after almost a year here, I can still easily count the # of times that has been a 'problem' on both hands.
C) As far as 'other deals' go, I have no clue. There was another place almost across the street (a long block away) from Maryville College that was 'close' but availability sucks.

I had friends who lived in Riverside Manor and loved it. But you're right, some days the stench from the sewer plant / fertilizer at the nearby farms was overwhelming. Otherwise, the rates were very reasonable, the management was responsive, and the location was convenient. They were there for a year and never had any problems.

Well, it's not sewage in the sense that you think of smelling it. The smell is a processed sewage smell which is really not quite the same. While offensive none-the-less; it's not like opening up a septic tank and taking a whiff either.

Ok, got a another question.......I know when I was looking for the apt complex's it seemed like where I was, was in the middle of nowhere. But, I wasn't sure where it was to begin with....hehehe!!! If it is 10miles out from Alcoa/Maryville, is it pretty convenient to a grocery store? I think I was out in the boonies of Louisville!!
I got a list of apt complex from the chamber, and they wouldn't tell me which ones were nice, and which ones weren't....lol. Guess I have to take them for their word when I call.
I wonder how often riverside has openings because their rates are so reasonable.

Ok, Louisville proper is isolated. What they have there, I honestly don't know other then a pretty nice park on the lake. While Riverside is 'in Louisvile' it's more like technically N. Alcoa then anything else. Literally it's a few 10ths of a mile off of 129/Alcoa highway and while you do have to travel at least a few miles in any direction to get to 'decent' shopping, it is right on a main road that makes it easy to get to Maryville or Knox. On Weekends there is a flea market, with plenty of local fare that should make life as a vegan (though I'm not one) fairly easy.
For the rest of your grocery fare it's about 8 miles to Wally World in the direction of Maryville and while 'turning' on Alcoa highway can be a life flashing before you event, it can be done.
Another footnote.. I have started working nights recently and I have to say that the only thing that wakes me up during the day is the need to go to the restroom, and not the noise of some obnoxious neighbor.
