Here's a rendering of the south waterfront project in Knoxville. It will transform the three miles on the south shore from heavily industrial to residential and commercial. Already, there are 500 homes under construction. For those unfamiliar with Knoxville, the central business district is on the north shore.

That looks great! It's the first rendering I've seen. I used to live withing viewing distance of the south shore and thought it always was so ugly/industrial. Thanks!

That really is nice. It'll sure look better than the dump that's there now. I hope other areas around downtown will also be redeveloped.

Looks awesome! Just hope Knoxville is big enough to support downtown, old city, south waterfront, and Turkey Creek.

I have a feeling a lot of people from South Knox (out the Chapman Hwy) will use the south waterfront, if there is good retail and food. Wouldn't have to cross the river, anyway. Those 500 houses.... wow, not sure about those!

I think that 500 figure includes condos that are on the drawing boards.
