A few years ago there was a guy who sold homemade wooden spatulas at a good price. He had a table at Market Square. I especially liked that he made left-handed spatulas and also burned personal names into the handles. Does anyone know who that was?

I saved wood from a treasured piece of grandpa's oak desk and I want to have spatulas made to give to all the grandkids. I looked at other artists in the area and they're either too expensive or too elaborate.

Can anyone help me find the wood artist who made this spoon? https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1W...ew?usp=sharing

Based on the price I would say definitely not. They charge $79 for one spatula??? Yikes.

Appreciate it, Hipnapster. Gordon Fowler is another local woodworker I'm considering but he's not the Market Square artist I bought from.

You may want to contact the office of Market Square. They keep a record of their vendors. This site also keeps a list of their current vendors.

Found him! His name is Joe Compton and he has a shop named Muddy Creek Crafts. He used to be at Market Square and now does shows around the area. My friend is getting married and someone had wooden spoons commissioned with her and her groom to be names and wedding date on them. He lives in Sevier County, Gatlinburg to be exact.

Edited to add: He also has an Etsy page: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MuddyCreek..._shop_redirect

Yes, he is! I ordered several items with free engraving after talking with him. So glad to have "found" him.

Too bad I didn't find him earlier as his wooden snowmen were an absolute "steal"! I will be purchasing those in the future.
