Default Ok, Im starting to agree with GBH

This has been about the dreariest month I can remember here in Knoxville in a while... I've felt very "English" lately...

I think the whole winter season has been like that.. for me anyway. I have lived here all my life (35 years) and this winter season has just killed me! One day it's hot, the next it's freezing... with no snow... We could at least have a little. When I was a kid I can rememebr getting out of school all the time for snow days. It's like my whole family has been totally drained from this weather. I can't wait till spring and summer and longer days.. but then I will complain because it's too hot

Smile There will be a Spring, Virginia, as surely as the sun will rise tomorrow morning.

And, I think of my growing up days, as well as, most of my adult life living in the NE thinking, "Ahhh, Feb. 23rd. Only 2 more months of snow and wintery weather"!

It does seem to be an unusually dreary several weeks here in the SE. Our previous winters were mostly sunny as I recall. Spring is only a couple of weeks away. Hang in there, ladies and gents! I can see it right around the corner.

We went into the Smoky Mountains today and it was wonderful to see the buds on the tips of the tree branches. There were already daffodils blooming, of course my thoughts were of the ladies that planted these bulbs so many years ago. Spring isn't far off; but of course we have to get through mixed bag March first.

On the way home from the doctor's office yesterday, DH pointed out a stand of Red Bud trees in a gulley by the road. The buds were formed enough that the trees actually seemed to glow fuschia. Just a lovely sight.

I love it when you can see the daffodils start to pop their heads up out of the ground, SMG. It is a sure harbinger of spring and good things to come!

I'm not liking this weather too much either. I wouldn't mind all this "cold" 30 degree weather if it had some snow to it. Seriously I'm such a wimp, 30 degrees kills me.
I'm really really looking forward to the spring and summer, our first in our new home and city!!

 I haven't noticed it being any colder/greyer than usual! (But, still, I look forward to those nice blue days!)

Default Same here

It's actually been the same down here in Florida. We've had many more cloudy days than usual and more rain too. I'm not complaining though because Florida really needs the rain. My husband has been praying for rain for the Smokies because he wants the trout streams to fill up All he keeps talking about his how he can't wait to move up there and go fly fishing.

I'm sorry, maybe he jinxed you. I'll have a talk with him.

Hi Snapdragon, where did you move from? I'm glad we are moving up in couple weeks when winter should be winding down some. That'll give my thin Florida blood to thicken up for next winter! We were up there last week when it got cold and windy and I went into shock! So much for being born and raised in NJ.

I'm with you, I've been thinking it's been nice that the rainfall is almost back to normal. I'm looking forward to those warm overcast days in the early spring after a good rain when there's a little fog hanging in the mountains, love that.
