I have seen this lavender purple two story house that has a white picket fence as I drive on the interstate going North from I-40 to I-275. It's totally visible as I'm rounding the curve past the Lexington signs overhead, if you take a look to your left as you're driving past. Curiously wondering if anyone has seen it. Is that a residence or a business? Looks like a Victorian/Queen Anne style to me. I might have my architectural style a bit off, not sure. I just catch a glimpse of it from the road. Cutest house ever!

This house?

I was bored...decided I'd check out Google Maps...then look at Street View to the left of the curve you mentioned. This was the first house that showed up when I randomly clicked on a street close to the freeway! If this is the house you're referring to, it's on the corner of Oak Ave. and Clark St.

Knoxville has some great Victorian neighborhoods. The house you mention is in Mechanicsville. The neighborhood is best approached coming from downtown on western ave, so you can turn right into the area. Coming from I-275 or I-40 going E, if you take the exits to Henley street you will see it also ramps off to western ave. Turn right and go away from town, after you cross the interstate you can turn right into the Mechanicsville neighborhood.

Other great areas are Old North Knoxville (search for Cornelia and Scott), Fourth & Gill (luttrell & Gill), and Parkridge (Washington at Monroe). Parkridge is having a house tour this Saturday from 10 am - 6 pm. Park at 620 Winona St by the ball fields.

Old North Knoxville has house tours the first weekend in December, Fourth & Gill usually has one in the spring.
