Great Subs
I found a great sub place in west Knoxville. It is in a small trailer across the street from Burger King at Lovell Road and Pellissippi Parkway.
I was in ProToy (a great place to get Toyotas serviced) picking up my vehicle and the guys were eating these subs that smelled so good. They said they got them across the street. I had the Italian sub that day.
I have been back three times and each time the sub was great. It is kind of slow since they cut the meat for each sandwich, but worth the wait.
Shakes are good too.

I don't think it really has a name. It's a SMALL trailer that originally sold ice cream (still does) and branched out into subs and hot dogs. It sits off of Lovell Road a bit. There is a pick up truck with a sign at the road. You walk up to the window and place your order. They have a table there, but I just take mine to go.
I have driven by it many times and it wasn't until I was in ProToy and smelled the subs that I decided to go and try them out.

Some of the best subs and sandwiches around are at The Palace Cafe in Maryville. The guy used to be open on Saturdays but has stopped that. Too bad. He does open up for special Maryville events. If you find yourself in downtown Maryville during the work week it would do you well to stop in for lunch. I promise that you won't be disappointed.
Oh, he has one of those sandwich steamers that keeps your bread fluffy but makes your sandwich hot. OMGosh, it is soooo good!

LOTS of meat, choices of cheese and the usual lettuce, tomato, onion and whatever. What caught my smell-buds (@ProToy) was the combination of the onion and italian dressing.
Last time I was there, the woman that used to work at Subway on Lovell Road was working there. It is usually the older gent and his wife that run the place. I think he's a retired cop (just a guess). I think the sub is under $5 and way better (more meat) than that other sub place.
While it's a great place, I don't think I would drive from Maryville just to get a sub, but if you are in the area (just a couple minutes from Cedar Bluff area), it is well worth the stop.

Ok, yehaa. I go to Cedar Bluff quite frequently. But this is a trailer across from ProToy on the Lovell Road exit? I love a good sub.

It's directly across the street from Burger King. It's actually on
Schaeffer Road which runs along Pellissippi Pkwy between Hardin Valley Rd and Lovell Rd.
