Smile moving to knoxville

I need help on where to look for a job and an apt. I am a single mother with a teenage daughter and looking to move into the best area of knoxville. I am recently living in fayetteville nc with some friends which turned out to be a horrible nightmare. I have been here for six months and still can't find a job. I have human resources, customer service and administrative experiences. I would like to move into an area that also have good high school. I am planning on moving within the next month so I really need help. I am planning on visiting next week to get a fill of the atmosphere. I recently moved from Memphis TN and knew I had to leave there. Crime was horribly. But I really want to get back into Tennessee I really miss a lot that it has to offer. North Carolina is definitely not for me and my daughter. Thanks

You'll have a hard time getting a decent apartment without a job.

I can second that. When we moved here right after Hurricane Katrina, we were fortunate to get someone to rent to us, who turned out to be a wonderful friend as well. But this was a house, not an apartment. I've heard that apartments, for the most part, require credit checks and employment references.

Don't want to discourage you, just want to let you know what we found when we moved here.

Check out the career websites and see what is available for HR. I saw a few posted last week, but can't remember where. In a previous life I was in HR. Careerbuilder, monster and look on craigslist - To see how a local economy is doing, look at the number of jobs posted and what they are looking for....good luck

BTW - the schools in this area are what you make of them...on of my good friends is a lawyer that graduated from Loudon and has a very sucessful practice...life is what you make of it

Well I have finally made it here in knoxville and it is wondering. I am currently on the west side and it is very nice. I am currently looking for employment and have went to around to a few place. If anyone is out there that knows companies that are hiring please let me know. I am planning on being here all week long hopefully I find something. I don't want to relocate here without a job.

I am interested in any kind of office work whether it is human resources, clerical, administrative or anything like that.
