Default Maryville / Alcoa Dentists?

Hi, guys. My husband needs to find a new dentist in the Maryville / Alcoa area. He used to come over to Knoxville, but since moving to the 1st shift (YAY!), he needs to find one closer to home.

We are looking for someone who isn't out to make their fortune on all the new cosmetic treatments. Just cleanings, fillings, etc., if you know what I mean.

Thanks for any responses. You guys are always the greatest with info!

Good Luck Barb. I had heard that Dr Mark Evans in Maryville (there is also a different dentist with the same name in Knoxville) was good but he was not accepting new patients back when I called. Maybe he has openings now? I tried two other dentists and was not pleased. I was left waiting in the chair for 45 minutes one time, no one around, I got up out of the chair and wandered to the dentists office and he was surfing the internet. A third recommendation I was given turned me off personally and I couldn't bring myself to even consider him. He had messed around on his wife and eventually left his wife and kids for the new woman. I found a wonderful, professional dentist in Knoxville near Cedar Bluff and happily drive to that office. Good luck in your search.

SMG, that's what I was afraid of.

We go to church with Mark Evans (and he is a very nice man), but he's not on Ken's insurance list. As I read your post, though, you did help me to think that Ken should bring his list to church and ask Mark for a recommendation. So, thanks for the input! It helped.

I go to the "other" Dr Mark Evans on Executive Park Drive in the Cedar Bluff area (right across from Fox43). I cannot say enough good things about him or his staff. He is out of network on my dental plan but I pay the extra on my medical flex spending account because he is that good and that much worth it. After I got settled in with him I discovered that his sister, a dental hygenist, was my neighbor in Kingsport and I keep running into people I know at his office.
