Beautiful blooms! I love how some of them grow sideways. LOL (just kidding)
My flowers are still under feet of snow. |

Stunning photos everyone!
The one that Kitties posted with the flowers has a nice added touch I did notice... the robins in the background were appropriate! Trees and flowers are all up nicely here in Bristol as well, but are a little behind some of those I have seen here. Someone posted Bradford pears that already have leaves showing, whereas most of ours only have blooms at this time. The willows are out nicely here as are my Peach trees... they are in nearly full blossom and leafing out well. I just hope tonights cold weather is not too cold for them. Quote:

I had to go back and look as I missed the robins the first time.
They are returning to Maine for the season, haven't seen one yet, but hubby has. He also the geese are returning in full force. So it must be spring....even if we still have tons of snow. |

Yeah, when I first see robin, I know spring is around the corner. They have been here for about 6 weeks now. I saw the first robin back in the middle of February. You will probably see more robins there when the snow starts to melt. I do not know what any of the poor birds eat up north with all of the snow on the ground all winter?

The birds returning up north with snow still on the ground are very resourceful. They will find the last of the withered berries on bushes, pick seeds out of a field of weeds (I think they are nettles) and grain fields.
Many, many people up north keep their bird feeders well stocked throughout the winter for the cardinals and blue jays, but the robins are happy to visit them, too, come March. ![]() And, of course, there are always the lazy one who just hang out in the McDonalds' parking lots! ![]() |

Here its the seagulls and pigeons that hang out at McD's.
We feed the birds all winter long (and deer also). The past 3 springs I've had some rarer visitors...a pair of Baltimore Orioles, Scarlet Tanager and an Indigo Bunting. Needless to say, we have an oriole feeder and always make sure to have oranges on hand for the Orioles. Cardinals are making a fast comeback to Maine. They are my favorite bird. |

I spoil my birds, I feed them all year long, every year.
![]() We have several bird families that hang out with us all the time. |
