How funny, the first time Bill and I came to Tn. we rented a cabin for a week in Pigeon Forge, we fell in love and went back home, packed the truck till we looked like the Clampett's and moved here and haven't looked back since.
We aren't going to settle in Pigeon Forge(to much traffic) but the area worked its magic on us.
I don't think Morristown is bad.

Oh how I would have loved to do that...at that time we still had my dad around though--I couldnt have left him here, but now> not much to stay for, and every reason in the world to go.
Had to LOL at the visual of the Clampetts, though

Bill had a small pick up at the time. We packed what we could on the truck, covered it up with a tarp and away we went. Needless to say we didn't have much when we got here... but the shopping was fun.
BTW, we don't resemble Granny or Jed Clampett, just the truck looked like it was them rolling into town. LOL

Pam, I was wondering if you could elaborate on the "air" in Dandridge? I've read on some threads that Knoxville has very polluted air, and that in the Tri Cities there are some chemical plants that give off fumes. How's the breathing in Dandridge? Thanks!

Happy wife,
I'm a poor speciman to ask that question. I always think the air is fine as long as I'm breathing. I'm sure there is a survey somewhere that says the air quality in Dandridge is bad, but to me I have no problems and think it is fine here.

LOL! Thanks, Pam! I guess I'll be able to rate it for myself in 10 days when we come down for a 'breather' from our lovely spring weather in MI (4" of snow a couple of days ago!) You folks in TN are a blessing and a hoot! I've really enjoyed reading all about TN in this forum. Thank you for sharing all the great info about your wonderful state!

We were not in Dandridge for any REAL length of time, but had no noticeable problem with air quality then...
 HTH!

Hmm, are they talking about the smell of beans cooking from the Bush Bean Plant? Certain beans cooking smelled better than others. Other than that I have never noticed a smell there.
I understand that smells don't equal pollution exclusively but I have never heard of pollution problems either. I am curious to hear/see the stats.

Dandridge
Mystic Fire, we too are planning a move to Dandridge later this year. We also live in MD. I am so ready to move! It is looking like we will rent or the 1st unless by some miracle we find our dream house on our next visit. I will not miss MD and all of the traffic.
