Default Moving soon to Vonore?

Purchased property 3yrs ago at Tellico Harbor. People blogging about LaFollette has me worried. Is Vonore a normal town with the everyday problems? Our should I beware?

Sebtec,

I read the stuff about LaFollette. I have lived in Vonore for four years, and the biggest problems I've seen/heard about are meth related. This is, however, Monroe County which is rural and relatively poor. I've found the people here to be very nice and friendly, even to some of us Yankees, as long as we don't complain and try to convert this area to another Connecticut :-).

Jeff

Vonore can stay the way it is quiet, & friendly people. The life style is what my heart needs, slow down mode, and more fishing. I've been in Mfg./Maint repair for over 35 years, I'm looking forward to not having to get things done, Now!

Default Wish i didn't have to leave

I lived in Vonore in 2003 and 2004, for about one year total. As a single father, and a catholic yankee from Dee-troit, I got nothin but love from the locals. It's probably not the best place to move to for socializing, but Knoxville is a pretty happenin' city and only 40 minutes or so down the road. The neighbors always said "hi" and the local elementary school was more than up to par, and they were very helpful with some of my son's problems he had in class due to his ADHD. The industrial park has quite a few large companies anchored there, so the job market is more than robust for a town its size. Unfortunately, I had to return to Michigan for family reasons, but I really wish I could of stayed. Monroe County is truly a hidden jewel in East Tennessee.
