Hi all,
I am leaving San Diego on June 16 and driving to Maryville (Im so excited!!) ....I currently bank with Navy Federal Credit Union but my mom said there aren't any out there....any recommendations on a good bank or credit union to transfer too? I do most of my banking and bill paying online.

Your credit union has reciprocal agreements with local credit unions in Knoxville. It looks like there are at least four local credit unions that will be able to use, Enrichment FCU, ORNL FCU, Y-12 FCU, UT FCU

Talk with someone at your current location to help you figure out what TN branch of your Navy FCU would best meet your needs and what services would be available to you here.

I have a CA based FCU and have to go to a local branch of a TN FCU for those rare occasions I need to physically go to a bank. It's not a big deal.

I'm still banking primarily with Wells Fargo and Schools First FCU (formerly Orange County Teachers' FCU). However, since there are ZERO Schools First here, and very few Wells Fargo branches, I am transitioning over to local banks with decent online banking options. I also got an account at BB&T and I opened one with the Knoxville TVA FCU, just to keep my options open.

Hope this helps the OP.

Thank you! I didnt know they did that. I pretty much never go to the bank so this works just fine.

ORNL ATMs accept Navy Federal cue cards with no fee. I have both Navy Federal and ORNL memberships. each I use for specific purposes. It's what works for me.

I refuse to do business with banks.

Most important for me when picking a bank is where the ATMs are and what the fees for using them are. Not all banks have plentiful ATMs and I don't usually go into a bank.

... I'm excited for you, COzuna74. (Bet your mom is too!)

Agreed, I do most things online ect but when I do need an ATM or have to go to the bank I want it to be accessible and not charge me an arm and a leg.

I am so excited! My son and mom are marking down the days It will be a big change so I'm a little scared but I know it will be great!
